Launched in 2014, the OION SEIS/EIS Fund focuses upon investments in IPR–driven/disruptive UK companies, with a bias towards university spin-outs, and a geographic focus upon Oxford, the surrounding science parks, and increasingly, the Midlands, and the Bristol area.
In managing the OION Fund, we partner with Oxford Investment Opportunity Network Limited – one of the longest established and possibly the largest private investor network in the UK, with a proven track record of identifying high potential early-stage businesses. The Investee companies are sourced through three OION managed investor networks which through their investment events and extensive membership have developed an unrivalled understanding and knowledge of the regions and their entrepreneurs. In addition, the OION team provide critical pre and post investment advice and support, enhanced by subsequent access to experienced business advisers.
Innvotec’s fund-partnership with OION began in 2014, and the Fund offers investors a highly focused choice of investment in SEIS/ EIS-qualifying companies, or a combination thereof. The OION funds have now made investments in around 25 companies – and have become one of the highest performing portfolios within the Innvotec portfolio of tax-efficient funds.
The OION fund is an evergreen fund, with quarterly closings, which means an investor's commitment is always invested within 3 months of receipt of funds, which, in turn, means timely receipt of HMRC certificates.
